I have experienced something unsettling...somewhere along the line I chose (unwittingly) to have audible voices rather than written messages. I don't like it - too personal so I will have to find out how to get back to just a written message.

I may or may not get used to this new life - haven't decided yet how I feel about it although I admit to feeling somewhat fascinated by the whole concept.

Sadia, thanks so much for your work in organizing and advertising the master class. For me, King was always a bit mysterious because, as an independent filmmaker, his films have been harder to find/see than the NFB fare (though I see they are now available through his website). And I learned a lot from Dr. King: I appreciated his elaboration on the idea of "actuality drama" as a sub-genre of documentary. I also valued his comments to the effect that "theory follows film, not the other way around..." I sometimes feel that in our program, the reverse paradigm (in which film are made to conform to theoretical models) is extolled -- though I feel that this view is not generally in keeping with the long-standing traditions of documentary.

Marc Glassman, as always, was a really good moderator. I REALLY want to see A Married Couple in its entirety now!
